Pop star Harry Styles could be the next act to hit the Las Vegas Sphere, with an extended residency deal in the works.

The former One Direction singer is nearing a deal with James Dolan’s Sphere in Las Vegas, with as many as 35 shows at the venue. Harry Styles shows at the Sphere could begin as early as the second half of 2025, according to a report from the NY Post.

The pop icon would be a big get for the first-of-its-kind venue, as the Sphere has yet to turn as much of a profit as its investors might hope. But major contemporary star power like Styles helps bring in the kind of crowds necessary for the high-tech Sphere to rake in the big bucks.

“For the Sphere to continue to be on everyone’s radar, they need to book some real ‘live’ artists like Styles,” a source close to the matter told the NY Post. “Almost everything at the Sphere has been geared for the 60-and-over crowd — The Eagles and The Dead, and even U2.”

Sphere owner James Dolan — who also owns Madison Square Garden — hasn’t shown much concern for the Sphere’s lackluster earnings. But Dolan also has a solid history with Styles, who performed 15 sold-out shows at MSG in 2022. He has every reason to feel confident about securing a run of Harry Styles shows at his Las Vegas venue.

Notably, the Sphere makes less money on average from concerts than its daily run of films, including “Postcards From Earth” and the U2 concert film, “V-U2: An Immersive Concert Film.” When U2 opened the venue in 2023, the Sphere paid the Irish band $10 million to produce their residency.

Before Styles might hit the stage, country star Kenny Chesney will be the next act at the Sphere. He’s got 18 shows lined up for May and June. Afterward, the Backstreet Boys are back with their own 18-show run at the Sphere, through mid-August.

Harry Styles has largely been keeping low key after his Love On Tour ended in 2023, especially since the tragic death of his former One Direction bandmate, Liam Payne, late last year.

Most recently, Styles ran the Tokyo Marathon on February 3. He reportedly attended a U2 concert with his girlfriend at the Sphere in November.
