Volbeat have a busy 2025 ahead of them.
The Danish metal act has been laying low for the past year, but frontman Michael Poulsen has revealed that a new album has been recorded and will be released sometime in 2025. The band is also planning to return to the stage for live shows.
Poulsen dropped the news in a Facebook video:
“The new Volbeat record has been recorded. It’s done. It will be out in 2025. You’ll know more information about that early in 2025. Can’t wait.
There’s a lot of shows being booked for ’25 with Volbeat everywhere in the world. Can’t wait to meet you all out there. Who knows? I might even start working on new songs for the next Asinhell record, my second band.”
The new Volbeat album, the follow-up to 2021’s Servant of the Mind, will mark the band’s first LP since the departure of longtime guitarist Rob Caggiano in 2023. Flemming C. Lund of The Arcane Order filled in as a live guitarist on the group’s 2023 tour, though it remains to be seen if he contributed to the new album.
As he mentioned, Poulsen is also working on new music from his extreme-metal side-project Asinhell, who released their debut album, Impii Hora, in September 2023.
