Mumford & Sons are reviving their “Railroad Revival” tour, which they last embarked on in 2011, hitting four cities this summer by train.
The four-date tour will take place in August. After picking up where the 2011 jaunt left off in New Orleans on August 3rd, it will move on to Spartanburg, South Carolina; Richmond, Virginia; and conclude in Burlington, Vermont. See a full list of the band’s upcoming tour dates below.

The English trio will be joined by their “house band,” an all-star lineup including Celisse, Chris Thile, Ketch Secor, Leif Vollebekk, Lucius, Madison Cunningham, Nathaniel Rateliff, and Trombone Shorty. Mumford & Sons teased more artists to be announced at a later date.
“We felt we had some unfinished business on the great American railroad,” Marcus Mumford said in a statement. “So, we’ve spent a lot of time cooking up this idea for another rolling festival to rip through the south and east of the U.S., picking up exactly where we left off in New Orleans and ending in Vermont.”
As for the set list, Mumford said that “every show will be different.”
During the original “Railroad Revival” tour, Mumford & Sons, along with supporting acts including Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes, ate, slept, and recorded music on a train while traveling through the American Southwest. The 2011 tour was captured in the documentary Big Easy Express, which later won a Grammy for Best Long Form Music Video.
The band attempted a second “Railroad Revival” tour in 2012, but it was canceled. At the time, Mumford & Sons said “certain complications would not permit us to host the shows in the manner intended.”
The 2025 “Railroad Revival” tour will go down between the first and second legs of Mumford & Sons’ North American tour supporting their new album, Rushmere. The album is now available to purchase here.
