Brooklyn-based band Momma has unveiled their electrifying new single, ‘I Want You (Fever),’ marking the first taste of their highly anticipated album Welcome to My Blue Sky, set for release on April 4th, 2025, via Polyvinyl Record Co. and Lucky Number.
Serving as a breakthrough moment in shaping the sound of the forthcoming LP, ‘I Want You (Fever)’ is a dynamic and hypnotic track that pulses with frenetic textures and an irresistible chorus. The song paints a vivid picture of longing and temptation, capturing the emotional turbulence of desiring someone unavailable. Sonically, it builds on Momma’s signature fusion of rock energy with pop sensibilities, offering a fresh yet familiar intensity that defines their evolving style. The track was one of the first completed for Welcome to My Blue Sky and became a turning point in the album’s creative process.
The band explains:
“‘I Want You (Fever)’ is a song we wrote about wanting to be with someone who has a girlfriend or someone who isn’t over their ex. It’s pining after someone, but there’s also some confidence knowing that that person wants to be with you. The second we wrote that song we felt like we were entering a new era – we scrapped everything we had written for the album up to that point because it felt so fresh and so exciting.”
With Welcome to My Blue Sky on the horizon and an extensive headlining tour ahead, Momma is gearing up for a defining year. ‘I Want You (Fever)’ sets the stage for what promises to be their most compelling and ambitious project yet.
