According to Mod Sun, Camila Cabello is still a BO$$.
The rapper, 37, is defending the “Senorita” singer after photos of her near-empty concert went viral.
An image of Cabello, 27, singing at a venue with unfilled seats was shown on X, but according to Mod Sun, the artist should be commended for going forward with the show.
“99% percent of artists would’ve cancelled the show + put out a ‘mental health’ statement,” he wrote on X on Tuesday.
“She just gained my respect by still performing. That show meant the world to the people in the crowd that night. EMPTY SHOWS ARE STILL SHOWS,” Mod Sun continued.
His statement was in response to a social media user who posted an image of Cabello’s show with the caption: “CAMILA CABELLO EMPTY ARENA SHOW LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.”
The photo was taken during the former Fifth Harmony singer’s headlining set at AT&T Playoff Playlist Live! at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Sunday.
The original X user who shared the picture questioned why Cabello didn’t cancel. They also shared a screenshot of the available seats, alleging that around 30% of the tickets had sold out.
Others chimed in, with one person asking, “True question why do some singers do this? If you know you can’t sell arenas why do them? Isn’t it just extra costs for no reason and embarrassment?”
“‘It was a football event’ it was a concert, she was the headliner of her day meaning she was supposed to be the main attraction,” another social media user said. “Lil Wayne headlined the day before and it was packed … the difference is sad.”
Despite not addressing the performance, Cabello took to Instagram on Tuesday to share a touching message with her fans.
“The people who I’ve chosen to be a fan of, since I was 12 to now, from musicians to authors to painters, have made me who I am,” she wrote. “Being a fan is a transformative and creative and sacred endeavor. And the artist who gives to their community also gets, in the form of love, inspiration, and trust.”
“I’m honored to be that for you. It’s one of the sweetest relationships I’ve known. I have fans that have been more loving, loyal and ride or die than people in my real life,” Cabello continued.
“Make no mistake,” she said, “regardless of distance and time apart and proximity, the love in that room, the love between us is very real. I feel it too, I hold it close to my heart like a little light on a dark night. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow.”
