Maya Hawke returns to Kyle Meredith With… to talk about Chaos Angel, the multi-hyphenate’s third album. Listen to the interview above, or wherever you get your podcasts, and watch the full interview below.
Hawke explains how she wrote some of the songs for Chaos Angel at the same time that she was working on Wildcat, the Flannery O’Connor biopic in which she stars and is directed by her dad, Ethan Hawke (listen to her chat about that project on Kyle Meredith with… here). She then dives into how the opening dialog of the album was taken from a bizarre psychic session she had with a pair of witches when she was 11 years old, during which they tried to cure her anxiety by putting her in “a golden egg.”
The musician/actor goes on to discuss her bouts of insomnia and a particularly hard-hitting Allen Ginsberg quote, as well as offering an update on filming the final season of Stranger Things.
Listen to Maya Hawke chat about Chaos Angel, Stranger Things, and more in the new episode, or watch it on YouTube below. Hawke is also set to play a handful of shows in celebration of the release of Chaos Angel. Grab tickets here.
