Måneskin’s Damiano David has released his debut solo song, “Silverlines.”
Produced by Labrinth, “Silverlines” is a ballad with a piano-led arrangement. Over top, David’s velvety voice delivers hopeful lyrics, gracefully slipping into his falsetto at times and reaching a powerful, belting climax over the song’s melodic interludes.
Speaking about the single, David said, “This song is very special to me. It was one of the first songs to be recorded on this new project, and at the time it represented a letter of hope, but now, if I look back, I can see how I am exactly where the song said I would be. It was automatic for me to pick this song as the beginning of this new chapter and I really hope that people are going to join me on this journey.”
“Silverlines” arrived along with a music video directed by the duo Nono + Rodrigo, depicting David navigating surreal and picturesque places. At its conclusion, he enters a limousine and is asked by the driver where he wants to go, giving the heralding response: “Everywhere.” Watch it below.
Damiano first began hinting at a solo venture in late 2023, and officially announced “Silverlines” earlier this month. On September 12th, he released a spoken-word teaser for his solo project titled “My Name is Damiano David,” in which he re-introduces himself, states his love for “music, arts, and women,” and concludes: “I traveled all around the world to find my voice, just to end up where everything started — I am Damiano David, and today is the first day of my life.”
