Bristol-based indie band Make Friends has just dropped their latest track, ‘I Lose, You Lose,’ a poignant exploration of mutual loss from their upcoming EP, Loaded Fun, set to be released on September 13th via Ignition Records.

‘I Lose, You Lose’ serves as the unguarded and emotionally charged closing track of the EP. The track delves deep into the shared sadness that arises when two people end their relationship.

Discussing the song, the band explains:

“‘I Lose, You Lose’ is a song about losing (shock)! The lyrics take you on a journey through anxiety and realisation that actually the person you’re with, wasn’t all you thought they were. The song’s upbeat verses and build sections symbolises that feeling of losing control over your thoughts, running through every situation that may have lead you to this breakup conclusion. But alas, you found solace in this breakup. Knowing you did all you could. That constant fact in your mind … “If I lose you, you lose me.” And somehow that made me feel better.”

Produced by Bombay Bicycle Club’s Ed Nash, Loaded Fun marks a thrilling new era for Make Friends. With influences ranging from Phoenix to MGMT and Everything Everything, the band is pushing their sound into exciting new territory.

Make Friends’ Loaded Fun EP is out September 13th. ‘I Lose, You Lose’ is available to stream now.
