Chicago-based electronic artist Lynyn has released ‘4m Hiero,’ the lead single and music video from his upcoming album Ixona, due out September 5 via Sooper Records.

‘4m Hiero’ showcases Mackey’s recursive creative process, built on repetition, layering, and precise sound sculpting. The track floats with gentle urgency, its textures sparkling like circuitry exposed to sunlight. It arrives alongside a video directed by longtime collaborator Owen Blodgett, featuring audio-reactive environments that emphasize the fluidity of Lynyn’s live-inspired sound design.

Mackey shares:

“While writing the album, the relationship I had been in my entire adult life ended, and with it, my sense of home and stability. Working on this record became direction and hope for me as I untangled the past from the future. It’s pensive sadness acknowledges what was while maintaining faith in what might come.”

The track introduces a more emotionally reflective chapter in Conor Mackey’s Lynyn project. Building on the critical success of his 2022 debut Lexicon, Ixona pushes the project’s sonic vocabulary even further. Inspired by personal upheaval and powered by modular hardware, the album draws on drum and bass, acid, and dub-techno to craft an intricate, immersive listening experience that invites both introspection and forward movement.

‘4m Hiero’ is out now.
