Luna Morgenstern’s latest single, ‘Spiral,’ offers a vivid and emotionally charged preview of her upcoming EP, heartbreak hotel, set to release on January 24, 2025.
Framed by neon-lit chaos and pulsating club beats, ‘Spiral’ captures the emotional detachment that follows the initial stages of heartbreak. Blending crystalline vocals and murky synths, the track is underscored by head-spinning breakbeats.
Speaking about the track, Luna explains:
“‘spiral’ contemplates escapism and self-destruction. It’s set in a club, capturing the numbness and detachment that overshadows the initial pain after it’s starting to fade. By arraying distinctive impressions of an escalated night out, from the outfits of the crowd (‘getting all dressed up, low- rise and tanktops’) to encounters with dealers in the dark corners of the club, ‘spiral’ evokes a feeling of increasing anxiety and isolation within a crowd.”
As the latest addition to Luna’s evolving discography, ‘Spiral’ reinforces her knack for pairing melancholic narratives with irresistible dancefloor rhythms. ‘Spiral’ is out now.
