YouTube’s Coachella stream returns bigger and better.
After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the famed music and arts festival is back this year with a stellar lineup of musical acts. The 2022 event will be headlined by Billie Eilish, Harry Styles, and The Weeknd with Swedish House Mafia; the latter two were announced earlier this month after original headliner Kanye West pulled out of the gig.
Other notable artists who will perform at Coachella include Lil Baby, Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat, 21 Savage, Big Sean, Baby Keem, Omar Apollo, and Vince Staples.
Didn’t secure your tickets to this year’s event? Thankfully, YouTube has you covered.
For the 10th year, the video platform will livestream all the action during the two-weekend festival, which kicks off tonight at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Dubbed “YouTube Presents Front Row Coachella,” the 2022 online event promises to deliver “a fully immersive experience for virtual attendees,” with more exclusive content than any year before.
In addition to the music sets, YouTube will stream intimate artist interviews, behind-the-scenes content, and a range of YouTube Premium pre-parties hosted by Cordae, 88rising, and Banda MS during weekend 1; as well as Omar Apollo, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, and Beabadoobee during weekend 2.
YouTube will increase the interactive element by offering a live chat for online audiences. It will also present YouTube Shorts and Creator Activation, in which creators will take viewers on different adventures throughout the festival. The participating creators include Benoftheweek, Kaiti Yoo, Kirsten Titus, Larray, Lauren Giraldo, Quenlin Blackwell, Alyssa McKay, Gunnar Deatherage, DankScole, Milad Mirg, Sydney Morgan, The Beverly Halls, and others.
The streamer will also have exclusive artist and festival merch on its YouTube Shopping platform. Billie Eilish, Brockhampton, and Flume will drop their offerings on Saturday.
