Liam Payne died Wednesday after falling off of a hotel balcony in Buenos Aires, Argentina, according to TMZ and CNN.
The former One Direction member was 31 years old.
Payne was 16 years old when he joined One Direction. After the band went on hiatus in 2016, the vocalist signed with Republic Records, and he released a solo album, LP1, in 2019.
Payne had been working on a second studio album and released a single in March 2024, titled “Teardrops.”
Payne is survived by his son, Bear Grey Payne, who was born in 2017.
