Known for their unique blend of pulsating beats, ethereal vocals, and captivating melodies, Austrian electronic pop and indie duo Leyya, return with a double single ‘I Don’t Hug So Well’ / ‘What Did I Do Wrong.’
Released on July 26, 2024, via Minor Changes / Ink Music, Leyya has shared their latest new music, ‘I Don’t Hug So Well’ / ‘What Did I Do Wrong.’ The introspective track ‘I Don’t Hug So Well’ kicks off with the question, “Hey, what’s going on?” Sophie Lindinger’s hushed vocals explore the nuances of interpersonal relationships, particularly friendships. The song encapsulates the theme of self-reflection that runs throughout Half Asleep, combining indie-pop elements with hauntingly beautiful etherealness, shimmering synths, and an acoustic melody.
The companion single, ‘What Did I Do Wrong,’ continues this introspective journey. Sophie questions her actions in a relationship that has changed, delivering lyrics like, “Say, what did I do wrong? // Tried so hard to show you I was strong // but I’m not.”
