Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi has announced a TikTok LIVE during his headline show at The O2 in London.
The global TikTok community will be able to tune-in at 10 PM BST, 11 PM CET, 5 PM ET & 2 PM PT on Friday, September 2 to see the event. Capaldi has teased that something very large is coming. Capaldi announced in 2021 that he would be taking a break from social media to focus on his second album.
The return of Lewis Capaldi to social media has fueled speculation about what the TikTok LIVE could feature. Lewis is no stranger to TikTok, calling himself the ‘King of TikTok’ after he broadcast live to his fans from the red carpet at the 2020 BRIT Awards.
He has also used TikTok LIVE to bring fans together and raise funds for charitable causes during the pandemic. Capaldi helped raise over £40,000 in under an hour for the British Red Cross. Capaldi has continually been one of the most viewed UK artist accounts and the #5 most popular UK artist by catalog.
Lewis Capaldi teased fans with new music and a TikTok video yesterday saying, “Can’t believe I left my phone on record by accident and managed to catch this moment. Hearing my NEW SONG for the first time,” before the music begins, the sounds of farts play. The one-minute teaser prank video has clocked over one million views since it was released. Capaldi last posted a clip on December 2020.
His fans on Twitter are being good-natured about the troll clip. “That really blew me away,” comments one. “Sounds like a ripper of a tune,” says another. Meanwhile, someone else just expressed genuine disappointment instead of playing along with the joke. “Why did I actually think you’d seriously let us listen to some of it?!” they replied to the video.
