Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe chats with Kyle Meredith about the 20th anniversary of their album Ashes of the Wake and their tour with fellow heavy rockers Mastodon. Listen above or wherever you get your podcasts.
As he explores Ashes of the Wake and the 20 years since it’s release, Blythe touches the inexperience he can’t help but hear on the demos included on the deluxe edition, his love of B-sides, and metal music’s relative youth as a genre. He also discusses the remixes that come by way of HEALTH and Godflesh’s Justin Broadrick, as well as the new version of “Another Nail for Your Coffin,” which features Kublai Khan TX and Malevolence.
Elsewhere, the frontman talks about his hatred of cell phone use at concerts, Lamb of God’s healthy power dynamic, and his non-musical projects, including his photography, reforestation project, and upcoming book. He also previews Lamb of God’s tour with Mastodon; get tickets to the double-headlining run here.
