Lady Gaga gave an electrifying performance for viewers around the globe on Friday night with her performance at the Paris Olympics’ opening ceremony, but she treated French fans to something even sweeter — new music.
Two days after she graced the Seine with a performance of “Mon Truc en Plume,” Gaga took to Instagram on Sunday to thank her Parisian supporters. “I’m so deeply touched by my French fans this week outside the hotel,” she wrote on her story. “I’m gonna come out and say goodbye tonight with a few seconds of #LG7.”
Promptly, she left her hotel, entered a limo, and popped up from the sunroof, laptop in hand. She then played two snippets of a new song; it’s tough to discern what she’s singing in the snippets over the Parisian fanfare, but clips show the song had a thumping, percussive, electro-pop beat and a swallowing bassline. Watch fan-captured clips of Lady Gaga previewing the track below.
Lady Gaga’s last album was 2020’s Chromatica, meaning the new music snippets serve as the first preview of the singer’s yet-to-be-announced seventh album. While she’s certainly been at work on some new tunes, she’s also set to star in the new musical Joker follow-up Joker: Folie à Deux, which arrives on October 4th.
She also recently celebrated her extensive 2022 ““Chromatica Ball Tour”” with a concert film titled GAGA CHROMATICA BALL, which premiered on Max in May and is available to stream now.
