Richmond, Virginia shoegaze outfit KEEP has announced their highly anticipated new album, Almost Static, set for release on May 30 as a self-release. Alongside the announcement, the band has shared a video for the lead single, ‘Fun Facts,’ giving fans a first taste of the upcoming record.

‘Fun Facts’ is a song that captures the feeling of detachment—of being present yet removed, observing life unfold without a sense of control. The track’s hazy, reverb-soaked guitars and melancholic atmosphere perfectly align with KEEP’s shoegaze sound and alternative rock influences. The song’s themes of resignation and aimlessness are mirrored in the immersive, dreamlike production, creating a sound that feels both intimate and expansive.

The band says:

“‘Fun Facts’ is about feeling checked out of your life. It’s about making peace with the fact that everything feels pointless. Everything is happening around you and you feel helpless.”

KEEP’s upcoming album, Almost Static, is shaping up to be a defining moment for the band. Blending their wide-ranging influences more seamlessly than ever, the album is described as a soundtrack for long drives and restless thoughts—an anthemic journey through a world that never slows down. The record was produced and engineered by Zac Montez (Whirr, Cloakroom) at Electrical Audio in Chicago and Earth Analog in Tolono, Illinois.
