Colombian superstar Karol G announces a documentary about her life and career coming to Netflix in 2025.
Reggaeton singer Karol G has announced a documentary spanning her life and career coming to Netflix next year. The announcement was made through an Instagram post in which the Colombian star shared a photo of a handwritten note and the Netflix logo.
“A story born from dreams that seemed impossible, fueled by unwavering faith. A relentless journey that defied all odds. My life, my work, my truth, and the powerful connection I share with you all. My dream came true,” the note reads, surrounded by hearts and ending with Karol G’s signature. The accompanying caption simply read, “2025.”
The film will be spearheaded by Emmy-winning director and producer Cristina Constantini. It will also be produced by This Machine, a subsidiary of Sony Pictures Television, in association with Bichota Films and Interscope Films. Interscope CEO John Janick and Executive Vice President Nir Seroussi will serve as executive producers on the project.
With Netflix at the helm, the documentary promises to be “an intimate portrait of a global music icon — the woman behind the artist,” showing fans a previously unseen look into her rise to fame. The news comes amid Karol G’s increasing dominance in the contemporary music landscape worldwide. She’s enjoyed a slew of chart-topping hits, cementing her presence in reggaeton since her breakthrough in 2016.
Last year, the 33-year-old made history with her album, Mañana Será Bonito, which became the first all Spanish-language album by a female artist to top the Billboard 200 chart. In July, Karol G finished her world tour in support of the album, which grossed over $313 million — now the highest-grossing Latin tour by a woman in history, surpassing her $trip Love Tour from 2022. She also made history yet again as the first Latin female artist to headline Lollapalooza in Chicago.
