Hands off.
Kacey Musgraves wasn’t happy about an incident with a fan while she was performing in Tampa, Florida on Friday.
The “Deeper Well” singer, 36, walked through the crowd at the Amalie Arena when someone suddenly grabbed and pulled her.
Musgraves stopped in her tracks and said, “What the f–?” to the fan, before she continued heading towards the stage.
“Jesus f-king Christ,” she also said in the mic.
The incident went viral on TikTok and Musgrave’s supporters expressed their outrage in the comments.
“I hate seeing how quickly they stole the smile off her face 🙁 who does that?” one fan wrote.
“Even if they aren’t famous, why are we touching other people especially pulling on them,” another person said.
A third comment read, “Normalize these artists/celebrities defending themselves and watch it stop…cause when they actually react the ones in the wrong in the eyes of the public is the celebrity..”
“Some fans do this a lot, and it ruins it for the rest of us,” a different fan wrote.
Musgraves later addressed the incident at her Hollywood, Fl. show the next night.
“Last night, this Tampa b***h,” she said on stage as the audience laughed and then booed.
“I know. She kind of ruined it,” Musgraves added. “She kind of ruined it for everybody.”
“I thought I was gonna have to get real East Texas on her. Take off my earrings,” she continued. “Um, well Florida goes hard. It felt a little bit like when you type your name and birth date into the Florida man thing, but Tampa girl popped up.”
Musgraves then transitioned back to the concert and told her fans in the crowd she was “very excited” to be there.
In a second TikTok, fans continued to show support for the Grammy Award winner.
“As someone from Tampa, WE DON’T CLAIM HER IM SORRY,” one person said.
“I don’t even blame her rn. Disgusting what happened,” added another fan.
“People being more upset that she called the fan a mean name is crazy if she didn’t put her hands on her this wouldn’t have happened,” somebody else pointed out.
A different fan wrote, “As someone who was at the Tampa show, if she chooses to never come back to Tampa I wouldn’t blame her. It was absolutely disgusting and she handled it with such class.”
Musgraves is currently on her Deeper Well World Tour. It started on April 28 and will end in Nashville on December 7.
The tour is in support of Musgraves’ sixth album which she released in March. “Deeper Well” was recently nominated for two Grammys including Best Country Album.
