JVLY drops smooth new single ‘SOUTH’ from upcoming concept EP SUNDER

Australian artist JVLY (Kayle Butler) is back with a new release, ‘SOUTH,’ giving listeners the first taste of his forthcoming concept EP, SUNDER.
Known for blending chilled indie-R&B and soul, JVLY’s sound has drawn comparisons to artists like NEIL FRANCES, LEISURE, and The Internet. His latest track, ‘SOUTH,’ co-produced with Callum MacDonald of daste., showcases JVLY’s signature style, melding wonky keys with a constant groove to create a track full of driving energy. This rhythm complements the track’s introspective theme, exploring the loops we sometimes find ourselves stuck in, even when we know we should break free. The song touches on the moments when reason is clear, yet we choose to look away.
Speaking on the track, JVLY explains:
“‘SOUTH’ is the first song I finished for SUNDER, and it’s the first glimpse of that world I’m trying to bring you into with this project. SUNDER is a concept EP that has a throughline connecting it all. It’s also visually inspired by films like ”Enter The Void” and “Requiem for a Dream”. SOUTH started with an idea my friend Cal (from daste.) had sent me a while before. He co-produced it with me. The track touches on the inevitable loops we find ourselves in sometimes, even when we know better.’
“‘SOUTH” is now available on all streaming platforms, giving fans a glimpse into the immersive world of JVLY’s upcoming EP SUNDER.
