JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown Share New Collab Album ‘Scaring the Hoes’

Scaring the Hoes is here to soundtrack the rest of your March.

The new album, a collaborative experience from JPEGMAFIA and Danny Brown, spans 14 tracks and follows the nearly year-long teasing that led up to its unveiling. This week, JPEGMAFIA (who produced the entire album) revealed that “every beat” on the new album was made using the Roland SP-404. According to JPEGMAFIA, this was done because he “wanted to see what it’s like to make music with one machine.”

Danny Brown was recently announced to be joining Atmosphere for their upcoming headlining show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado. The show, set for Sept. 17, marks the duo’s latest headlining stop at the revered venue after previously enjoying nine sold-out shows there over the past 12 years.

As part of the larger Scaring the Hoes rollout, JPEGMAFIA joined Brown on an episode of his Danny Brown Show series to chop it up about a slew of topics. Tucked into the resulting discussion was the official album announcement, as well as the premiere of album cut “Lean Beef Patty.”

The song, as well as the album’s title track, were also given the official video treatment in the run-up to the Scaring the Hoes drop.
