The Jonas Brothers famously sang about “Burnin’ Up” (for you, baby) on one of their biggest hits in 2008.
Fifteen years later, the New Jersey-born siblings — Joe, 33, Nick, 30, and Kevin, 35 — are hotter than ever.
The late-aughts icons kicked off a Broadway mini-residency Tuesday night at the Marquis Theatre, as the trio gears up for the release of their sixth studio LP, simply titled “The Album,” on May 12.
So what’s the secret to their longevity?
“Writing things that we’d want to play in 20 years,” Nick said in front of a largely female — and loudly squealing — audience that significantly lowered the median age on Broadway on the first of five nights.
“We never thought we would get here. It was wishful thinking,” Nick said to the crowd. “But to look out and see some of the same faces, to see that this music that we wrote when I was 13 years old … still means something to you, it’s a crazy feeling and it’s why we do what we do. So we’re gonna go on a roller coaster tonight.”
On each night, the JoBros will be devoting the first act to one of their albums, while the second act features a variety of their hits. Tuesday night was dedicated to the group’s 2007 self-titled album, starting with the hit “S.O.S.”
“Although a lot of time has passed, you know — it feels like, when we play these, they’re a day old,” said Nick. “They don’t feel nearly 20 years old.”
“Some of these songs we haven’t played in, like, 13 or 14 years, so if we mess it up, sorry,” added Joe with a laugh before launching into “Australia.”
Clearly, this mini-residency — which will spotlight 2008’s “A Little Bit Longer” on Wednesday, 2009’s “Lines, Vines, and Trying Times” on Thursday, 2019’s “Happiness Begins” on Friday and the upcoming “The Album” on Saturday — is for the “O.G. fans,” as Joe described them.
“It’s just good to see familiar faces … that literally have the O.G. Jonas Brothers shirts, that were there back in the day,” said Joe, who relished being close enough to fans to point out that someone’s sign was upside down. “It’s so special, and it means a lot to us.”
And while they are all happily married girl dads now, the JoBros are planning on sticking together for years to come.
“I think if I can have more of the same, then I’ll be happy at the end of the day,” Joe told The Post in November about the group’s future. “I’m good right now. I’ve really, really been blessed.”
No doubt, the Jonas Brothers were feeling truly blessed before they began the final song of the night, their 2019 No. 1 hit “Sucker.”
“This is one of the coolest things we’ve been able to do,” said Joe.
