JoJo Siwa’s summer 2025 tour is already facing backlash after the former Dance Moms star revealed a pricey VIP package that makes fans pay to help her set up the concerts.

JoJo Siwa has had quite a career shift after reaching fame as a YouTube mega-star in her teens. In the last year, she’s discarded the glitter and bows she was famous for and has since opted for an edgier, “not made for children” image.

After releasing new music in 2024 (and going viral for her unique choreography), Siwa is now gearing up for a summer 2025 tour in cities across the United States — but there’s a particular detail about the performances that’s giving fans pause.

JoJo Siwa fans can pay $900 to help her set up her concerts

As told in a March 2025 interview with Access Hollywood, JoJo’s summer tour, which begins on July 10 in Houston, Texas, will have a special VIP package that comes complete with the opportunity to perform manual labor.

“You are actually going to get to come during while we’re loading in the show, and you’re gonna get to kind of help us set it up and make sure things are right, and test out the drum with me or the DJ booth with me,” Siwa explained.

A quick look at the official website for JoJo’s tour shows that the “Dream Guest VIP” package includes “exclusive invitation to JoJo’s Live Show setup before Q&A and soundcheck with JoJo,” as well as “help JoJo put together the show with song selection input.”

It wasn’t long before this information spread across social media, where netizens were quick to criticize the Dance Moms alum for seemingly asking her fans to pay to be her employees.

“Paying $900 to move equipment around for her before she even arrives,” one wrote on X.

“This feels like a $900 health and safety risk experience,” another said.

“Oh gee, what a generous offer to the fans,” another sarcastically remarked.

Thus far, JoJo has not offered an official response to the criticism surrounding her VIP package, but in a March 27 TikTok video she encouraged fans to think of the tour as a “concert, and then an afterparty” with “audience participation moments.”

While JoJo’s new endeavors have received some side-eye from netizens since her big image shakeup in 2024, she still boasts a massive fanbase who are leaning into her new aesthetic, saying the criticisms “could never make me hate you.”
