Joji is ready to get a glimpse of fans on the road, as he’s now sharing a new single “Glimpse of Us” alongside his tour announcement.
The musician’s latest offering is his first new track since the release of his September 2020 sophomore LP Nectar, and comes alongside a music video directed by Dan Streit. The chilling piano ballad is matched visually with race cars, horses, and a handful of anonymous music video protagonists taking part in some serious tom-foolery in the clip.
Joji’s next trip around North America, entitled “SMITHEREENS TOUR,” kicks off this fall. Tickets for the shows go on sale next Thursday at 10 a.m. local time, for fans who want to see Joji touchdown in one of the 17 dates—which include some festivals sets as well. Joji will be joined on tour by Dhruv, Rei Brown, and Savage Realm at different dates, everywhere from Palo Alto to Atlanta.
Back in 2018, during one of his first interviews with Complex, the musician who had recently shed his image as a YouTube comedian told Eric Skelton that one of his biggest goals at the time was to “put out even better projects” as his solo work expanded.
“On top of that, along with the music, I want to give back as much as I can, in a non-corny way. You know, just be a good example,” he said. There’s a lot of shit right now and I feel like it wouldn’t hurt to go into philanthropy. Just help people out. Help everyone out.”
