“Traveling for work” takes on a new meaning in the case of John Summit, who has announced that he’s begun recording his sophomore album in London and Amsterdam.
Not even a year removed from the release of his debut album Comfort In Chaos, Summit has been on a roll, releasing a slew of that singles that test the boundaries of his house music sensibilities. That includes the dubstep-infused “Gas Pedal,” a rework of Sage the Gemini’s hit of the same name released alongside Subtronics and Tape B.
This diversity seems to be taking root in Summit’s upcoming album. This week, he took to social media to share clips of unreleased demos featuring glimpses of drops ranging from techno to drum & bass.
Summit is back in the studio with familiar favorites like Sub Focus and Julia Church, with whom he collaborated to release “Go Back,” as well as Hannah Boleyn, Ina Wroldsen and EDM.com Class of 2024 star Camden Cox, among others. He also shared a photo with the “High Priestess of Hard Techno” herself, Sara Landry, although there’s no indication they are collaborating on new music at this time.
Summit has not yet formally revealed his sophomore album, including a title or release date.
