The Bear star Jeremy Allen White is reportedly the top choice to play Bruce Springsteen in the upcoming film chronicling the making of his seminal album Nebraska.
The film, titled Deliver Me From Nowhere, will be written and directed by Scott Cooper (Crazy Heart), who is adapting Warren Zanes’ 2023 biography, Deliver Me From Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska.

In addition to circling White for the lead role, producer Scott Stuber is in talks with A24 to make the film, Deadline reports. Production is scheduled to get underway this fall in Springsteen’s home state of New Jersey. Both The Boss and his longtime manager, Jon Landau, are said to “actively involved” in the project.
White most recently starred in A24’s The Iron Claw. Currently, he’s in Chicago filming the next two seasons of his acclaimed Hulu series The Bear. Hulu reportedly sought to film seasons three and four together due to the increasingly busy schedule of its stars (White, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, etc).
Meanwhile, the real-life Springsteen is doing what he does best: touring. He just kicked off a new run of tour dates in Phoenix last week, and will be on the road for much of the year. Tickets to his upcoming shows are available here.
