Personally, I can’t believe it’s still January; way too much has already happened for us to still be in the first month of 2025.

Meanwhile, with music coming, tours on the horizon, long-awaited comebacks, and a few fashion show appearances, it’s also been an especially busy few days in the K-pop world. Here’s what you need to know this week.

Jennie’s Stacked Debut Album

The ladies of BLACKPINK are in their solo eras; following bandmate Rosé’s individual release, Jennie is gearing up for what sounds like a very promising debut. She announced the debut with the title Ruby and an accompanying visual teaser.

One of the most exciting details available at this point is the tracklist, which boasts an impressive number of guests. Jennie revealed that Childish Gambino, Doechii, Doiminic Fike, Dua Lipa, FKJ, and Kali Uchis are all set to appear on Ruby. The project will drop on March 7th.

IU’s Concert Tour in Theaters

K-pop princess IU successfully completed her first US tour in 2024, and now The Winning tour is returning — to theaters, at least. Fans will have the chance to catch the concert recorded at Seoul World Cup Stadium during a theatrical run that kicks off on February 5th. Those interested in catching a screening can check showtimes in the area here.

Welcome Back, GOT7

It’s true — GOT7 have returned with their first album in three years. Gang’s all here!

The seven-member group landed their comeback with a new project tiled Winter Hepatgon, which features the single “PYTHON.” The return is a true testament to the bond between these members, especially considering the uncertainty that followed their decision not to renew their group contracts with JYP Entertainment in 2021. What this release has proven, though, is that while they’ve enjoyed spreading their solo wings in recent years, and there’s something special about working together. They guys have a full group concert on the horizon, too, which will also be livestreamed. Find details here.

Song Rec of the Week:

This song is popping off after being featured in the second season of Squid Game, but the vibes have been immaculate for years.
