Baltimore-based experimental hip-hop duo Infinity Knives and Brian Ennals have unleashed another intense and politically charged track, ‘The Iron Wall (ft. FRANKI3),’ ahead of their upcoming album A City Drowned in God’s Black Tears, set for release on April 4 via Phantom Limb.
Following last month’s lead single, ‘Sometimes, Papi Chulo’ (ft. Gabriela Bibiana), ‘The Iron Wall’ continues the duo’s unfiltered, no-holds-barred approach to lyricism and production. A searing indictment of political oppression, the track pulses with raw energy, driven by chaotic, genre-defying beats and incendiary commentary. The collaboration with FRANKI3 adds another layer of sonic intensity, her contributions in both performance and production shaping the track’s relentless atmosphere.
Infinity Knives doesn’t mince words when discussing the song’s theme:
“I’m f**king tired of Israel and America’s bullshit. I grew up in “post-colonial” Africa and lived in South Africa for 4 years after the apartheid. I saw the terrors of it with my own eyes and have the deepest sympathies for my Palestinian brothers and sisters. F*ck Israel forever.”
As A City Drowned in God’s Black Tears approaches, ‘The Iron Wall’ sets the tone for what promises to be a ferocious and deeply personal album. Originally envisioned as an EP, the project expanded into a full-length release through a grueling creative process marked by setbacks, loss, and raw perseverance. ‘The Iron Wall’ is out now.
