A new XXXTentacion documentary is arriving next month from Fader Films.
In His Own Words, directed by Lesley Steele and Rob Stone, serves as a companion piece to the previously released Look at Me. Per a press release, fans can expect to see previously unreleased footage taken from a 2017 Fader interview, as well as insight from the late artist’s mother and manager.
“Cleopatra, Solomon, and I watched the Fader-Jahseh one-on-one interview from 2017,” Stone said of In His Own Words, which is slated to be released on Altavod on Nov. 22. “It was emotional, chilling, insightful, and tragic on a multitude of levels. It instantaneously brought us closer together. It feels only right to share it with his fans and the world, Jahseh in his own words.”

The streaming release of the aforementioned Look at Me, which is currently available on Hulu, coincided with the sharing of a 25-song compilation project also titled Look at Me. Directing the feature-length doc was Sabaah Folayan, who spoke with Complex earlier this year about the experience.
“I set out to model a type of emotional acuity, and emotional bravery that I think that we can all use in situations like this,” Folayan told Jessica McKinney in an interview published this May. “I set out to show an example of how a conversation could be had. What people think and feel about X by the end of the film is completely their choice.”
