Ice Spice takes center stage as a playable character in Fortnite as part of the game’s Chapter 2 Remix.
Rap Princess Ice Spice is now a playable character in Fortnite as part of the game’s Battle Royale mode Chapter 2 Remix, joining Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Juice WRLD. The Bronx native has turned the game’s Shark Island into Ice Isle today (November 14) featuring an abandoned shopping mall dripping with neon lights and Y2K aesthetic.
Ice Spice’s Grappler and Rifle are available now in the Fortnite store, along with a pair of Rap Princess skins inspired by her looks in the “Deli” and “Fisherrr (Remix)” music videos.
“She’s super cute and I love her looks,” Ice Spice told Billboard of her character in the game. The 24-year-old grew up playing video games on consoles like Nintendo Wii and has younger siblings who play Fortnite. “I also get to have big sister cool points.”
“Getting the chance to come to the game and remix the Chapter 2 map is unreal,” said Ice Spice. “It’s exciting to be a part of something so iconic, and I can’t wait for players to experience this new vibe. Fortnite is all about creativity and connection, and I’m hyped to bring my own spin to it!”
Ice Spice and Snoop Dogg kicked off the Chapter 2 Remix earlier in November with a real-world concert in New York City’s Times Square. Meanwhile, the in-game event also features rap stars Eminem and the late Juice WRLD, whose WRLD Point will be introduced on November 21.
With weekly locations and loot drops inspired by the best of early Fortnite Battle Royale Chapter 2 gameplay along with some serious music icons, Chapter 2 Remix has something for both players new and old. Snoop Dogg heads the Agency, rap god Eminem sets up shop in the Grotto, hip-hop princess Ice Spice lays claim to Shark Island, and the remix finale features a celebration and tribute to Juice WRLD.
The Chapter 2 Remix event won’t last forever though, and is slated to run through November 30.
