The tables really turned on Grimes.
Grimes issued an apology early Sunday morning after she suffered several technical difficulties while performing at Coachella.
“I want to apologize for the technical issues with the show tonight,” Elon Musk’s former lover wrote in a lengthy X post.
“I wanted to come back rly [sic] strong and usually I always handle every aspect of my show myself,” she continued. “To save time this was one of the first times I’ve outsourced essential things like rekordbox bpm’s and letting someone else organize the tracks on the SD card etc.”
The star said she “had a bad feeling beforehand” adding that though she had flagged certain elements of her equipment to the festival’s personnel, she wasn’t insistent about making sure it worked before going onstage.
“The big lesson for me was a mix of 1) if u want it done right, do it yourself, 2) be a c–t even if ppl feel bad 3) probably pretend it’s fine and engage with the crowd rather than spend a whole show slumped over the desk trying to fix software when ur meant to be entertaining.”
“I will personally organize all the files next week. I will not let such a thing happen again,” continued the singer adding “I’ve spent months on this show, making music and visuals, and admittedly am not in the best mood atm.”
In a separate video uploaded to the social media site, the 36-year-old DJ can be heard screaming as her equipment begins to malfunction.
“We’re actually having major technical difficulties,” Grimes can be heard saying after letting loose a curse. “I’m trying to think. I’m not good enough at math for this s–t.”
Grimes attempted to salvage the situation but was ultimately cut off.
The singer’s tweet drew mixed reactions.
“Honestly your set was still incredible even with the issues, and the new music sounds insane,” said one fan.
“I’m sure you will crush the next performance,” a second fan encouraged which prompted Grimes to respond that she has “no choice at this point.”
“Worst Coachella ever,” one naysayer tweeted.
“Math? Just push the sync button hun and crossfade when the bars line up,” sneered another person.
