Skrillex is cooking up something huge, and Four Tet wants to spread the word.
Four Tet recently took to his Instagram Stories to share the exciting announcement that he’s finished work on his next album, which is expected to release next year. He also dedicated some additional posts to sharing lineup posters on which he’s featured.
However, eagle-eyed fans were surprised to find a sneaky surprise in the shuffle: a video of an unreleased ID in which Skrillex is tagged.
As you can hear in the video below, the song interpolates the lyric, “Doesn’t it make you feel better” from Nine Inch Nails’ 1994 release “March of the Pigs.” It then gives way to a growling synth before dropping into a modern-day Skrillex house breakdown that prominently samples the timeless “Think break,” which derives from Lyn Collins’ 1972 funk song “Think (About It).”
The short clip has already led to rampant speculation, but it’s not yet known when the unreleased track will be released. It’s also unclear whether or not the song is a solo Skrillex record or a collaboration with Four Tet. Check out the video below.
