FKA twigs has returned with “Eusexua,” the lead single and title track from her upcoming album.
Arriving as her first solo release since 2022, the single features a minimalist arrangement carried by a subdued synth pulsing beneath twigs’ breathy vocals, which evolves into a dancey beat when the bass drops just before the three-minute mark. Lyrically, it describes the feeling of “eusexua,” a term coined by twigs herself to describe the feeling of “when everything moves out the way, everything in your mind is completely blank and your mind is elevated.”
“Eusexua” was produced by twigs alongside Koreless, and Eartheater, and marks the second song we’ve heard since she scrapped progress on the album in the wake of online leaks (following “Talk to Me,” a co-release with Two Shell from earlier this year). Stream the new single below.
twigs has been alluding to the release of Eusexua since earlier this year. Last month, she previewed the album in New York City, but no official release date has been confirmed. Earlier this week, she shared a trailer for the album on Twitter — watch it below.
twigs recently starred opposite Bill Skarsgård in the remake of The Crow directed by Rupert Sanders. In April, she gave testimony to the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Intellectual Property regarding the deepfake of herself that she’s developing, “AI twigs.”
