As reported last year, Metallica frontman James Hetfield stars in the dark Western thriller The Thicket alongside Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) and Juliette Lewis (Natural Born Killers). Now, the first photos have been released from the movie, which is set to hit theaters September 6th via Tubi Films.
As seen in the photos, Hetfield plays a sheriff in the film, which features Dinklage as a bounty hunter who leads a group of outcasts on a mission to save a young girl from a violent killer played by Lewis. The movie, directed by Elliott Lester, is an adaptation of Joe Lansdale’s novel of the same name.
The marks the second time Hetfield has played a cop in a movie, having portrayed Officer Bob Hayward in the 2019 Ted Bundy biopic Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.
Tubi Films recently shared several stills and on-set pics from the movie, including two of Hetfield in character, as well as separate pics of Dinklage and Lewis each riding a horse. Those photos can be seen in the gallery below.
