Exodus Part Ways with Steve "Zetro" Souza, Welcome Rob Dukes

Thrash legends Exodus have announced that they’ve parted ways with singer Steve “Zetro” Souza, while also revealing that they are welcoming back Rob Dukes as their new vocalist.

A message posted to the band’s social media channels reads as follows:

“EXODUS have parted ways with Steve “Zetro” Souza. We thank Steve for his years fronting the band and all the killer music we made during that time. We wish him only the best in the future and much success with anything he does. And please help us welcome Rob Dukes back to EXODUS! We are beyond stoked to have Rob back ripping up the stage with us and he’s looking forward to crushing everything like only he can. Next chapter begins, new record rolls along as planned and the beatings will continue. See you soon, EXODUS.”

Souza’s latest stint in Exodus was his third go-around with the veteran Bay area metal act. In fact, he was replaced by Dukes in 2005, before coming back to replace Dukes in 2014. Souza’s first stint with the band lasted from 1986 through 1993, during which time he appeared on such early albums as Pleasures of the Flesh and Fabulous Disaster.

Dukes, meanwhile, appeared on all albums from 2005’s Shovel Headed Kill Machine through 2010’s Exhibit B: The Human Condition during his first stint with the band. In his years away from Exodus, he focused on his other band, Generation Kill.

As Exodus mentioned in their statement, the band is working on a new album, which will be the follow-up to 2021’s Persona Non Grata. Dukes is slated to make his stage return with Exodus at Welcome to Rockville and Milwaukee Metalfest, which both take place May 15th-18th.
