L.A.-based pop sensation Emei continues to make waves in the music industry with the release of her latest single, ‘Rabbithole.’
Featuring her signature dripping vocals and sharp wit, ‘Rabbithole’ is a powerful example of Emei’s alt-pop style. The song captures the listener’s attention with its whimsical, yet unsettling, soundscapes that echo the sensations of racing thoughts and escalating anxiety. Produced by Boyblue (Suki Waterhouse and Flyana Boss), the track is a vivid portrayal of the struggles Emei faces in trying to combat these feelings with mantras, affirmations, and breathing exercises—only to find herself sinking deeper.
Emei describes the song as an exploration of the inescapable nature of these spirals, saying:
“‘Rabbithole’ sounds and feels like falling and panic and your mind racing. We play with whimsical magical touches and racing sounds and all sorts of breakdowns. It touches upon how even though I’ve tried mantras and affirmations and breathing exercises, it often just makes me fall deeper and deeper down into the rabbit hole.”
‘Rabbithole’ is out now.
