Elon Musk is taking the phrase “work hard play hard” to unprecedented levels.
Over the weekend, the Technoking of Tesla was seen partying stage-side to the spirited sounds of RÜFÜS DU SOL in San José del Cabo. Musk attended the Grammy-winning electronic band’s boutique festival experience, Sundream Baja, which initially debuted in Tulum earlier this year.
Musk’s affinity for electronic music is well-documented, though it’s a rarity for him to be seen raving outside of a company-sponsored “Cyber Rodeo” or “Rave Cave” at your local Tesla Gigafactory. Perhaps he was making the most of some newfound free time after having turned over his Twitter CEO duties to the newly appointed Linda Yaccarino.

That said, once Musk’s night ended, it was immediately back to business. Hours later he immediately jetted to France, where he met with President Emmanuel Macron. Musk joked he’d had to sleep “in the car” on his way over to Paris, per The Telegraph.
Given the notion that Musk had a reputation for sleeping on a couch in Twitter’s San Francisco HQ during his tenure as CEO, we certainly wouldn’t put it past him.
