During his appearance at Dreamville Fest on Sunday, Drake got the crowd to sing Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You” to J. Cole.
Cole and Drake served as the co-headliners for Dreamville Fest’s second and final night, and they both made sure they let their fans know how much they appreciated each other. “J. Cole, if you can’t tell, Raleigh North Carolina and myself we love you, brother,” Drake told Cole after the crowd chanted the “I Will Always Love You” lyrics back to the Dreamville founder. “For real, I appreciate the opportunity.”
Cole also took a moment to pay tribute to Drizzy. “This man right here, bro, I was such a fan, and I feel like I am speaking for all of us when I say this, bro… We are fucking wowed, amazed, blown away by your greatness, bro,” said Cole. “It gives me chills to see you do this shit at the highest level, non-stop and constantly serve us and bless us with the fucking soundtrack to our lives. I am blown away by your greatness. Y’all make some fucking noise for Drizzy Drake!”
Drake also came through with some other surprises during his set, which followed Cole’s 45-minute performance. Among those to show up included GloRilla, who performed her breakthrough track “F.N.F. (Let’s Go),” and Lil Uzi Vert, who performed “XO Tour Llif3” and “Just Wanna Rock.” But his biggest guest performer was none other than Lil Wayne, who showed up for “Uproar” and “A Milli.”
