Santa Cruz hardcore band Drain have announced a new album titled, …Is Your Friend. Ahead of its November 7th release via Epitaph Records, the trio has unveiled the LP’s lead single, “Nights Like These.”
…Is Your Friend marks Drain’s third album overall, and the follow-up to 2023’s acclaimed Living Proof. The song “Nights Like These” is accompanied by a fun music video in which the members of the band are played by their real-life dads and uncle performing a Drain show in 2055.
“When we were coming up with ideas for this video, I thought it would be so cool to try and make us look old and play a show as seniors,” singer Sammy Ciaramitaro explained. “We could have gone the route of using make-up and practical effects, but then it clicked in my brain… I am going to look just like my dad when I get old — I should just use him.”

He continued, “The fact that we got to share this special night with the people who shaped us to be the men we are today — means SO much to all of us. I hope that everyone enjoys watching it as much as we all enjoyed getting to make it happen. Shout out to Stu, Frankie, and Donny!”
Along with Ciaramitaro, Drain are rounded out by guitarist Cody Chavez and drummer Tim Flegal. In addition to two previous albums, the band has also released three EPs since forming roughly a decade ago.
The album announcement comes as Drain are set to kick off a run of US shows on Tuesday (June 10th) in Amityville, New York. The brief outing wraps up June 19th in Baltimore, and includes a stop at the Vans Warped Tour in Washington, D.C.
The band will also play the Inkcarceration and Warped Tour (Long Beach) festivals in July, and embark on a run of shows in the fall, including stops at Louder Than Life, Furnace Fest, and Warped Tour (Orlando). Tickets to Drain’s upcoming shows are available here.
