California rock band Dawes has unveiled their introspective new single, ‘Still Strangers Sometimes,’ offering a glimpse into their upcoming ninth studio album, Oh Brother, set to release on October 11th via Dead Ringers.

‘Still Strangers Sometimes’ continues Dawes’ tradition of exploring the complexities of relationships through their music. Co-produced by brothers Taylor and Griffin Goldsmith, along with Mike Viola, the single is a reflective meditation on the mysteries that persist even in the closest of connections. The track balances the band’s signature folk-rock sound with a tender, introspective tone that underscores the themes of emotional distance and the unknowable facets of our inner selves.

Taylor Goldsmith says of the track:

“It’s a song about the spiritual investigation of long-term relationships. How a part of ourselves will be unknowable forever, despite our deep connections and intimate understandings of each other.”

‘Still Strangers Sometimes’ is out now. Their upcoming album, Oh Brother, is set to release on October 11th via Dead Ringers.
