Charli XCX has shared her new single, “Von dutch,” the first preview of her just-announced album, Brat. Stream the track below.
“I’m just living that life, Von Dutch/ Cult classic but it’s still pop,” Charli sings over her frequent collaborator EASYFUN’s pulsating electronic production. “I get money, you get mad/ Because the bank stop.”
In the accompanying music video, Charli goes dances her way through Paris’ Charles de Gaulle airport.
The British artist announced Brat on Tuesday, saying it would be out “this summer.” In prior social media posts, she described it as “a club record.” Charli added, “i was born to make dance music. i came from the clubs. xcx6 is the album i’ve always wanted to make.”
“Von dutch” arrives after Charli recently guested on the title track for A. G. Cook’s upcoming album. Last summer, she helmed the Bottoms soundtrack with Leo Birenberg and contributed “Speed Drive” to the Barbie soundtrack.
Charli’s last studio album, Crash, was released in March 2022.
