Cassia continues their evolution with ‘miles out,’ the latest track from their upcoming album everyone, outside, set for release on April 11.
Driven by bright, guitar-led melodies, ‘miles out’ captures the tension between emotional distance and self-awareness. The track finds frontman Jacob Leff navigating overthinking and the fear of pushing someone away, only to realize the worries were self-imposed. This balance of vulnerability and optimism is a hallmark of Cassia’s songwriting, making ‘miles out’ both deeply personal and universally relatable.
Jacob Leff says of the track:
“This song came from a moment of overthinking a relationship, feeling distant, and imagining they’d leave because I was too closed off. Writing ‘miles out’ helped me accept that I’d created that narrative myself. But there’s a lightness in that realisation – an ‘I don’t need you to feel bad’ kind of thing. Looking back, it’s almost funny because none of it was true. This song helped me make sense of where the mind goes when you let it.”
‘miles out’ is out now.
