Rising Canadian artist Cam Kahin announces debut EP for Dine Alone Records and releases intense new single ‘birds.’
Toronto’s Cam Kahin has announced his debut EP for Dine Alone Records. The project, WHEN IT’S ALL OVER, is set for release on April 6th, 2023. Kahin also shared the insanely intense new single ‘Birds.’ Kahin says the four-and-a-half-minute panic attack is the heaviest track (sonically and lyrically) he’s ever written.
Here’s Kahin describing the track:
“The message of the song is something I can relate to, as I had experienced derealization/depersonalization myself,” explains Avitia. “I wanted to convey that feeling, but also knew that those phases of depression are seen as an evil spirit trying to take over in some religious cultures. I threw that twist in as an homage to some of mine and Cam’s favorite horror movies.”
Here’s Kahin discussing the project:
“WHEN IT’S ALL OVER is a depression-fueled coming-of-age story,”” says Kahin. “Every month you’re a different person. It’s a lot of feeling uncomfortable, and not knowing what’s stable and what’s not.”
WHEN IT’S ALL OVER will be released on April 6th via Dine Alone Records. ‘birds’ is out now.
