Cafuné continues their bold sonic evolution with ‘Temporary Lover,’ a riveting collaboration with Riovaz that offers a piercing look at a relationship unraveling in real time. The single arrives as the latest preview from their upcoming album Bite Reality, out September 12 via the band’s Aurelians Club label, distributed by SoundOn.

Pairing electrifying electro-pop production with emotional clarity, ‘Temporary Lover’ pits Sedona Schat’s commanding vocals against scuzzy guitars and sharp percussion, her intensity offset by Riovaz’s smooth, understated verse. The result is a dynamic and emotionally textured track that explores the slow, inevitable erosion of intimacy in a world dominated by fleeting connections and digital distractions.

Written and produced by band members Noah Yoo and Sedona Schat, the single embodies the raw, confrontational tone of Bite Reality. Lyrically and sonically, it doesn’t flinch, asking hard questions about the blurred line between real and artificial connection in the age of algorithms and AI. It’s a theme that runs throughout the upcoming album, which also includes the previously released singles ‘e-Asphyxiation‘ and ‘Attack + Release.’

“We first learned about Riovaz a few years ago after he covered one of our tunes, and were instantly drawn to his unique style of yearning club music. I was listening to him a lot when we wrote ‘Temporary Lover,’ so to have him be a part of the final record feels full circle.”

‘Temporary Lover’ is out now on all major streaming platforms.
