Ohio-based alternative folk band Caamp returns with ‘Drive,’ a beautifully understated single that marks the beginning of a new chapter and introduces their forthcoming album, Copper Changes Color, due out Friday, June 6, 2025, via Mom+Pop Music.
‘Drive’ is a sparse, introspective offering that showcases the band’s refined maturity. Frontman Taylor Meier’s vocals take center stage, raw and resonant against the track’s sweeping melody. As the first glimpse into Copper Changes Color, it sets a contemplative tone for the 11-track album, which was written, performed, and produced by the band over two years. Co-production credits go to Grammy winners Beatriz Artola and Tucker Martine, further expanding the sonic possibilities of Caamp’s evolving folk palette.
Meier describes the song as:
“…a kind of a spirit song for the record and new era. It’s like the carabiner clipped to your jeans in high school; it sticks with you.”
With ‘Drive,’ Caamp reaffirms their place among alt-folk’s most heartfelt voices, offering a thoughtful prologue to what promises to be one of the genre’s most anticipated albums of the year.
