Today, NYC art rock quintet Bodega unveiled two new tracks, ‘Myrtle Parade’ and ‘Cultural Consumer IV,’ as part of the upcoming Brand On The Run deluxe edition, set for release on November 1 via Chrysalis Records.

‘Myrtle Parade’ stands out as a breezy yet introspective track, first written for an earlier project but now finding its rightful place in the expanded edition of their acclaimed album, Our Brand Could Be Yr Life. The song is set against the backdrop of a smoky DIY warehouse, evoking the social anxiety and the sense of disconnection often felt in cramped, underground spaces. Frontman Ben Hozie shared that the track captures snippets of conversation and gossip about a fictional scenester, Myrtle, who embodies the Brooklyn rock scene. The accompanying video reflects the song’s euphoric yet uneasy energy, with costumed gallery-goers dancing on the edge of bad vibes.

Hozie notes:

“‘Myrtle Parade’ was a song I originally wrote for an earlier version of ‘Endless Scroll,’ but it was far too sunny and breezy to fit with the minimalism of that album. It’s a song set in a smoky DIY warehouse venue about feeling out of place and going through the motions at a show where the atmosphere is cramped and the social anxiety is high.”

With the release of ‘Myrtle Parade’ and ‘Cultural Consumer IV,’ Bodega continues to push boundaries, offering sharp cultural commentary through their unique brand of art rock. Fans can expect to hear these tracks live during their upcoming West Coast tour, followed by a hometown celebration at Brooklyn Made on November 14.
