Nickelback selects BMG to release their upcoming tenth studio album — the band’s second with the label.
BMG announces it will release Nickelback’s upcoming studio album after the band drops several teasers on social media. The record will be Nickelback’s tenth studio album and their second with BMG after 2017’s Feed the Machine.
“The reaction to the band’s teasers has been phenomenal,” says Jason Hradil, BMG’s EVP of New York and International Marketing. “The time is right for a new Nickelback album, and it’s an honor that they have once again chosen BMG as their global partner.”
“We are thrilled to reunite and continue our journey with the team at BMG and can’t wait for everyone to hear the new music,” says Chad Kroeger, the band’s lead singer and guitarist.
“The enthusiasm from the entire label team over this new project marks an exciting new chapter in our career. We couldn’t be happier to extend our relationship with BMG and their partners around the world, who are some of the very best at empowering and elevating artists globally.”
“We have had so much success with Nickelback since they joined BMG years ago,” adds Thomas Scherer, BMG’s President of Repertoire & Marketing, Los Angeles and New York.
“Feed the Machine was a massive return to form, and we’re happy to confirm they have chosen to stay with us. BMG is the home of rock and has proven it time and again. The group’s new album is absolutely stellar, and our team is ready to deliver nothing but the best for their fans around the world. Welcome home — again — to BMG.”
Nickelback signed a global recording deal with BMG to release Feed the Machine in 2017. The record became an acclaimed international hit, debuting in the top 5 on charts across the globe. The album was number one for Hard Rock albums in the US, number two on both Top Rock Albums and Independent Albums, and number five for Top Current Albums and the Billboard 200.
