Fresh from winning the Top Local Artist of the Year honor, BINI promises ‘more music, more shows, more collaborations’ this year

MANILA, Philippines – After capturing Filipinos’ hearts in 2024, BINI aims to charm its way into global stardom.

After winning the Top Local Artist of the Year honor at the launch of The Official Philippines Chart, BINI set a lofty goal for 2025.

“We really hope that we can dominate the international stage,” Jhoanna, the group’s leader, told the media in a mix of English and Filipino on Wednesday, February 19, at the Clubhouse BGC at The Palace.

This comes on the heels of BINI’s first-ever world tour date announcement, where they will hold shows across 14 locations in the United Arab Emirates, the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

The nation’s girl group sold out its Valentine’s weekend concert at the Philippine Arena, which also served as the kickoff show for the BINIverse World Tour.

In selling out the 55,000-seater arena, BINI became the first Filipino act to hold a sold-out solo show in the venue.

In 2024, the group’s shows at the New Frontier Theater and the Araneta Coliseum were the hottest tickets in town following the success of hits like “Karera,” “Salamin, Salamin,” and “Pantropiko.”

“[OPM is] thriving. When this year started, it felt like everything was about OPM. It was not just the one-day sold-out concerts, there were also some two-day concerts selling out in some of the biggest arenas in the country,” Jhoanna said.

Jhoanna also admitted feeling pressure as the eight girls embark on a crucial year for their music careers.

“There will always be pressure, but, as a group, we don’t want to think about making it into a chart or topping a list; as long as it is from our hearts, it will resonate with the fans,” she said.

This month, BINI released its latest all-English single, “Blink Twice.”

The group, made up of Aiah, Colet, Jhoanna, Maloi, Gwen, Stacey, Mikha, and Sheena, also plans to release more songs as they tour the globe in 2025.

“More music, more shows, more collaborations,” Jhoanna teased. – Rappler.com
