Congratulations are in order for Billy Corgan and his wife Chloé Mendel Corgan on the birth of their third child, a baby daughter named Juno. The little Pumpkin arrived into this world on Tuesday (March 18th) at the family’s home in Highland Park, Illinois.
The cherubic Juno weighed in at a healthy 9.9 pounds and measured 22 inches, with Corgan telling People, “My wife Chloé is doing well and recovering, and baby Juno is happy, healthy, and nursing with gusto. We are so touched by all the kind wishes of support and love, and thank those who helped Chloé and baby have such a safe, and peaceful, home birth.”
The Smashing Pumpkins’ frontman added, “The kids are absolutely thrilled by their new sister, and being 9 (Augustus) and 6 (Philomena) they can’t wait till she’s old enough to play.”
The couple shared a photo of themselves with Juno in bed (see the Instagram post below), with Billy clutching onto an acoustic bass guitar. (Perhaps he wants to prep Juno early as the eventual long-elusive permanent replacement for D’Arcy Wretzky in the Pumpkins?)
Back in August, Chloé revealed to People that the couple was expecting their third child, saying at the time, “We are overjoyed to announce that our family is growing! It’s an exciting time for us, although unexpected!”
Corgan, who just celebrated his 58th birthday on Monday (March 17th), has been busy as of late. The singer-guitarist recently started his own podcast, The Magnificent Others, featuring guests such as Gene Simmons, Sharon Osbourne, Wolfgang Van Halen, Tom Morello, and more.
Additionally, he just announced that he’ll be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Pumpkins’ classic 1995 album, Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness, by teaming up with Lyric Opera of Chicago for a run of November 2025 concerts that will re-imagine the double LP through “an immersive original sonic and visual experience that blurs the boundaries of opera, rock, and performance art.”
