Billie Eilish becomes the latest celebrity hit with a flying object from the audience during her performance in Glendale, Arizona over the weekend.
Billie Eilish was hit by a flying object during her recent performance in Glendale, Arizona, over the weekend — making her the latest celebrity to be pummeled with something thrown from the audience while on stage.
The object appeared to be a necklace, which startled the singer when it made contact with her, causing her to pause her performance momentarily to regain her composure. Only a moment later, Eilish, clearly irritated but unharmed, resumed the song and casually tossed the item aside.
Eilish was performing at Glendale’s Desert Diamond Arena on Friday night, singing her hit “What Was I Made For?” from the Barbie film soundtrack, when the object sailed at the stage. It appeared to hit Eilish in the head before falling to the floor in front of her as she sat on stage.
When Eilish flinched and briefly went silent, the crowd was almost as startled as she was, and several fans could be heard yelling, “No!” in footage of the incident. Someone can also be heard shouting what sounded like an apology.
The incident is reminiscent of a slew of similar moments that occurred last year. Bebe Rexha was hit by a tossed cell phone at a show in New York City, while Cardi B had a drink thrown at her in Las Vegas. Ava Max was slapped by an audience member as security tackled them when they rushed the stage in Los Angeles. Other artists who were hit by a rogue object during a performance last year include Harry Styles, Drake, and Kelsea Ballerini.
Earlier this month, country star Zach Bryan was hit in the leg with an object thrown from the crowd, causing him to pause his performance. “Alright, who threw it?” the singer asked the audience. “Let’s not be dicks, huh?”
